- A page from Aunt Joan's diary . . It's going to be the happiest day of my life, yes. I have already started thinking of the first church gathering I shall attend after my recovery. I am going to get out of this and I will soon be able to offer my services to the church once again, but I know. All I can do is hope for a recovery. Today I am all alone, but. I was so happy then. When I worked for the church and was in the Almighty's service, i think of those beautiful years of my life. I have not been able to get out of the house due to my illness, for the last three years. Youngsters and the elderly, i was an active member of the committee organizing educational and fun activities for kids. I used to organize fests and social activities in the church. I was associated with the church, for all these years. Gone are the days when I used to visit the church every Sunday and attend church gatherings regularly.

Let us look at some interesting ways of breaking the ice at a church gathering. They function as effective conversation starters and add to the fun element of a get-together. Icebreaker activities serve as excellent energizers in gatherings of all kinds, a school reunion or a party, be it an office meeting or a family get-together. Icebreakers make the best beginning for any gathering.

Musical chairs and Bingo as church gathering icebreakers and get the guests started, pass-the-parcel, or you can always organize common games like truth or dare! This game tests the participants' knowledge about characters from the Bible and biblical names. Each member describes the meaning of his/her name and members of the opposite team try to guess which name it is. You can vary this game by giving biblical names to members of one team.
